- Private school owners in Edo State have called for tax waivers and a reprieve on renewal fees, citing the significant economic challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic and last year's #EndSARS protests.
- The plea was formally conveyed in a statement jointly signed by Bishop Ohis Emmanuel Elakhe, chairman of the Edo State chapter of the Association of Private School Owners of Nigeria (APSON), and Osagie Erhunmwunse, chairman of the Association for Formidable Educational Development (AFED).
- Beyond tax relief, the proprietors are urging both state and federal governments to extend palliatives to their staff members.
