
- The Universal Basic Education Commission (UBEC) has revealed that N41.06 billion in matching grants remains unaccessed by Nigeria’s 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) as of 8 March 2021.
- This was disclosed by the Executive Secretary of UBEC, Dr Hamid Bobboyi, during an oversight visit by the Senate Committee on Basic and Secondary Education in Abuja.
- Dr Bobboyi explained that between 2017 and 2020, states and the FCT accessed approximately N143 billion out of the N184.8 billion made available by the Commission.
