- A significant number of teachers in Niger State are moving to withdraw their membership from the Nigeria Union of Teachers (NUT).
- A total of 2,800 teachers have initiated the process, with 2,089 submitting membership withdrawal forms at the State Ministry of Education, joining the 717 who had already taken this step.
- The move comes as a result of what is described as the NUT's "unfair treatment" of its members, according to Abubakar Idris, Executive Director of Peoples Right Advocacy for Social Justice.
