
- The Vice Chancellor of Oduduwa University, Ipetumodu (OUI), Professor Chibuzo Nnate Nwoke, has described the Kaduna State government’s plan to sack about 21,780 primary school teachers who failed a competency test as a direct consequence of corruption and systemic rot in Nigeria’s education sector.
- Speaking at a press conference ahead of the university’s 5th convocation ceremonies, Professor Nwoke stressed the urgent need to address the destructive impact of corruption on education.
- He called on the government to invest more financial and human resources into strengthening primary education, which he described as the foundation for all levels of learning.
