This presents a valuable opportunity for prospective students seeking direct entry into the 200 Level of degree programmes without the need for JAMB. Key Dates and Fees The application window for the LASU JUPEB programme is now open, with the closing date set for Friday, 19th September 2025. The entrance examination is scheduled to hold on Saturday, 20th September 2025. The application form is priced at N30,000. Programme Overview The LASU Foundation (JUPEB) Programme is an intensive 12-month course designed to prepare exceptionally bright candidates for university admission. Running from September 2025 to August 2026, it aims to equip students for entry into the 200 Level of various degree programmes offered by JUPEB-affiliated universities. The programme is conveniently located at the Lagos State University Foundation Programme Campus, ASCON Road, Topo, Badagry. Admission Requirements To be eligible for the LASU JUPEB programme, candidates must possess a minimum of five (5) Ordinary Level Credit Passes in relevant subjects, including English Language. For candidates aspiring to study courses in Medicine, Dentistry, Nursing, Agricultural Science, Science Education, Social Sciences, Management Sciences, and Engineering, a Credit Pass in Mathematics is a mandatory requirement. Successful applicants who meet the admission criteria will be invited to sit for a written qualifying examination. Acceptance Fees Upon successful admission, candidates will be required to pay a non-refundable acceptance fee of Thirty Thousand Naira (N30,000.00). Available Courses and Specific Requirements The Lagos State University JUPEB programme offers a range of courses across different faculties. Specific O'Level requirements for some of the available courses include: FACULTY OF ARTS Arabic Studies: Five ‘O’ Level credit passes in English Language, Arabic, and three other relevant subjects. Christian Religious Studies: Five ‘O’ level credit passes in English Language, CRK, and three other relevant subjects. Theatre Arts: Five ‘O’ level credit passes including English Language, Literature-in-English, and three other Arts subjects. Music: Five ‘O’ level credit passes including English Language, Mathematics, and three other Arts subjects. Portuguese/English Language: Five ‘O’ level credit passes including Literature in English and English Language. Known by the moniker 'Ambode of LASU,' Olugbenga recently received significant international recognition and shared his journey with ABDUSSALAM AMOO. Introducing himself, Pelumi Olugbenga stated, "My name is Pelumi Olugbenga, a student at the Lagos State University. I was recently awarded as a Hesselbein Global Academy Fellow at the University of Pittsburgh, the United States." Regarding the award, he explained that it recognizes student leaders and young CEOs globally. The primary gains, according to Olugbenga, are the sharpening of leadership skills, exposure to global communities and their challenges, and fostering a deeper appreciation for volunteerism and civic engagement. The fellowship brings together exceptional individuals to enhance their lives and careers. Within LASU, Olugbenga has held various significant roles. He served as the General Secretary of the Faculty of Arts students' association and is currently the Editor-in-Chief of his departmental press team. He also chairs the House Committee on Public Matters within the Students' Union Government parliament. A notable achievement was his role as a student representative on the General Studies review committee, appointed by the university's Vice Chancellor, for which he received a certificate of honor. Balancing academics with these extensive leadership commitments, Olugbenga attributes his success to passion, drive, and a vision for a brighter future. He maintains a detailed itinerary to manage his daily tasks and emphasizes self-discipline, time management, and prioritization. During periods like the ASUU strike, he dedicates time to wide reading and preparation, ensuring he is ready when academic activities resume.
