Kwara State Polytechnic has announced the start of the semester break following the conclusion of the First Semester Examination for the academic session. The Management directed all students to proceed on break with effect from Thursday, 2 April 2026. Students are to resume on Monday, 20 April 2026. Semester break dates The Polytechnic said the first semester examination has been concluded. Following that, students are to begin their semester break on Thursday, 2 April 2026. Academic activities will resume on Monday, 20 April 2026. That timeline is plain; students are expected to leave for the break and return on the stated date. Important dates Semester break begins: Thursday, 2 April 2026 Resumption for new semester: Monday, 20 April 2026 Hostel residents must vacate campus accommodation The Management also directed students who live on campus to vacate the hostels during the break. Students are to leave with all personal belongings. The notice makes that point clear; nothing should be left behind in the rooms. Students who live in campus accommodation should plan to remove personal items and secure their rooms before leaving. Hostel access will be restricted Kwara State Polytechnic stated that hostel access will be restricted during the break period. The school also said it will not be responsible for any item left in the hostels. Students who stay in campus accommodation should take note and act before leaving. Message to students The Management wished students a joyful Easter celebration in advance. It also said it looks forward to receiving students back for the new semester on Monday, 20 April 2026. Continue readingNigerian Defence Academy Screening Test Date Set The Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA) has announced the screening test date for candidates applying for the 78th Regular Course. This crucial examination is a key step in the admission process for aspiring cadets. The NDA Screening Test for the 78th Regular Course is scheduled to take place on Saturday, June 6, 2026. This test serves as Phase One of the Post-UTME screening. Required Documents and Preparation Eligible candidates are instructed to present specific documents on the day of the screening test. These include the Acknowledgement Form, Screening Test Admission Card, JAMB result slip, and two postcard-sized (3.5 x 5 inches) photographs. The photographs must display the candidate from the chest upwards and should have the candidate's Name, Exam number, State, Exam Centre, Course of study, and Signature written on the back. Candidates are also reminded to wear face masks and face shields for their safety. Those without these protective items will not be permitted to participate in the test. For the examination itself, candidates should bring HB pencils and an eraser. Importantly, candidates are strictly prohibited from bringing mobile phones, smart wristwatches, and calculators into the examination hall. Possession of these items will lead to disqualification. Admission Process Following the Test Only candidates who successfully pass the NDA Screening Test will be invited to the Armed Forces Selection Board (AFSB), which constitutes Phase 2 of the NDA screening process. Following the AFSB, the final list of admitted candidates will be published. Cut-off Marks The names of candidates who meet the required NDA cut-off marks will be uploaded to the portal once obtained from JAMB. The cut-off mark is 180 for all courses, except for Engineering courses, which require a cut-off mark of 210. Screening Centers Details regarding screening cards and center selection will be made available prior to the test date. While a comprehensive list of all centers was not fully provided in the input, it was indicated that centers exist across various states in Nigeria, with examples given for Adamawa and Akwa Ibom states.
